The Director's Note: Summer 2010
Summer's finally here... and we know what that means, especially in the south: warm weather, lots of sunshine and plenty of oppurtunities to get outdoors. But make sure you remember your pets during this time of the year - because they can't tell you when they're feeling too hot or need some water.
The extreme summer heat and dehydration are potential threats to your pets safety that you should always be aware of. When you have to leave the house, make sure your pet is either indoors or has access to a cool (preferably air-conditioned) place to escape the heat. And of course - check frequently to make sure that you pet has a full bowl of water, since they might be crinking more than they usually would. And never, ever leave your cat or dog in a hot, parked car.
Keep all that in mind, and enjoy your summer!
